It’s been quite the season for Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield.
In addition to leading the Bucs to the NFC Divisional round, he has earned $2.85 million in incentives outside of his $4 million base salary. $2 million of those incentives came when he took at least 85% of the snaps during the regular season.
He’s been able to stay healthy and that’s been a big deal since he finished the regular season with 4,044 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He then added 337 more yards and three touchdowns on Monday night in the wild-card round.
He’ll earn even more money if he’s able to get the Bucs to the NFC Championship Game after they play the Detroit Lions next week.
A bigger contract could then be waiting for him in the offseason, whether it’s from the Bucs or a different team.
He’s more than earned it with his play thus far.
