Baker Mayfield’s wife Emily has been his biggest supporter through the highs and lows (of which there were plenty) of his NFL career.
Now that he finally has found his niche with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, things are looking up for the whole Mayfield family.
Taking to Instagram on Friday, Emily Mayfield posted some photos of the whole family at Buccaneers training camp. She stood side-by-side with Mayfield, who was still in his training jersey, while holding their little bundle of joy – their daughter Kova Jade.
“Year 7 🏈♥️🏴☠️,” Mayfield wrote.
The photo collection also included a promo photo of Mayfield, Kova Jade smiling, Kova Jade’s frilled socks and Mayfield posing alongside offensive lineman Tristan Wirfs and his baby.
The 2023 season was the best year of Baker Mayfield’s NFL career. He set career-highs in accuracy, yards and touchdowns while going 9-8 as a starter and led the Buccaneers to the playoffs in their first season post-Tom Brady.
For his efforts, the Buccaneers named Mayfield their permanent starting quarterback and signed him to a three-year contract extension worth $100 million.
Mayfield took a big gamble on himself by joining a team with an open quarterback battle rather than aim for a cozy backup job. That gamble has paid off in ways few could have expected.
