TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The USF Bulls are playing post-season football once again.
Last season they were in the Boca Raton Bowl. This year they’re headed to the Hawaii Bowl.
A huge reason for the Bulls’ success in recent years is quarterback Byrum Brown, who hasn’t played since late September. Yet the Bulls believe there is a chance we could see him on Dec. 24.
“I think he’s going to do everything in his power to try to put himself in a position where he feels really good, and that would be really good for our football team if he can play and if he’s ready to go. Obviously, if he is, we would have to feel like he’s healthy and can go out there and do it,” said USF offensive coordinator Joel Gordon.
Brown is as healthy as he’s been since being sidelined after injuring his lower left leg against Tulane.
“He’s been practicing now for a while and obviously the difference in practice, speed, and game speed and getting tackled and not getting tackled,” said Gordon.
If Brown is not healthy enough to play?
“Bryce will be ready to roll and he’s done a good job. Ya know, everybody on our side of the ball, we just have to keep being more consistent,” said Gordon.
