Elvis Merzlikins is the probable starter for the Blue Jackets, who are 2-7-1 in the last 10. Columbus has dropped six straight games at the worst possible time. Zach Werenski has notched 20 goals and 49 assists for the Blue Jackets.
Ilya Sorokin is expected to get the starter for the Isles, who are two points ahead of the Blue Jackets in the post-season race. New York is 5-3-2 in the last 10 games, but lose in the last game. Bo Horvat has recorded 23 goals with 25 assists for the Islanders. Many left the Isles for dead, but they have managed to insert themselves into the Stanley Cup Playoff conversation.
Both teams need a win, but Columbus snaps its recent funk.
