NHL Predictions
Toronto Maple Leafs vs Los Angeles Kings
Head-to-Head: Maple Leafs 1-0 Kings
Time: 7 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)
TV: CBC; Sportsnet; Fan Duel Sports West; ESPN+
We open up NHL predictions with the Toronto Maple Leafs visiting the Los Angeles Kings. Toronto is expected to start Anthony Stolarz in between the pipes. However, always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. The Leafs are 5-4-1 in the last 10 games, but coming off a shootout loss to the San Jose Sharks. Mitch Marner has totaled 22 goals and 67 assists for Toronto.
Darcy Kuemper is the projected starter for the Kings, who are 8-2 in the last 10 games. However, Los Angeles is coming off a loss in its last game. The Kings have gone 26-3-4 at home this season. Longtime stalwart Anze Kopitar has 18 goals and 39 assists for Los Angeles.
Both teams are trying to get momentum before the Stanley Cup Playoffs. However, the Kings’ home record carries them through.
Prediction: Kings win 4-2.
Boston Bruins vs Detroit Red Wings
Head-to-Head: Bruins 2-0 Red Wings
Time: 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)
TV: ABC; ESPN+
Our second game of NHL predictions has the Detroit Red Wings hosting the Boston Bruins. We’re likely to see Jeremy Swayman in net for the game as Boston tries to stop a seven-game losing streak. The Bruins are 2-7-1 in the last 10 games and have pretty much fallen out of contention. David Pastrnak is the team’s leader in goals (35), assists (50) and points (85) this season.
Detroit is projected to start Cam Talbot in goal, as it fights for a post-season spot. The Red Wings are three points off the second wild card spot in the East coming into Saturday’s games. Lucas Raymond is first in assists (47) and points (72) so far this season.
Boston is desperate for a win, but Detroit picks up the victory.
Prediction: Red Wings win 5-2.
Calgary Flames vs Edmonton Oilers
Head-to-Head: Flames 1-1 Oilers
Time: 10 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)
TV: CBC; Sportsnet; CityTV; ESPN+
The last game of our NHL predictions is another chapter in the Battle of Alberta between the Flames and Oilers. Calgary is expected to start Dustin Wolf in this game. The Flames are 5-3-2 in the last 10 games. Calgary is sinking fast out of post-season contention as it’s six points off the wild card spot. MacKenzie Weegar has posted seven goals and 34 assists for the Flames.
Edmonton has been dealing with injuries and are 5-4-1 in the last 10 games. The Oilers have lost two straight games, but good news could be coming. Leon Draisaitl could be coming back from injury soon and that will give the lineup a big lift. Evan Bouchard has provided 13 goals and 44 assists for the Oilers.
Both teams are in need of points, but the Oilers get the win at home.
Prediction: Oilers win 4-3 in overtime.
Prop Bets of the Night
We round out NHL predictions with some prop bets of the night. Let’s stick with our featured game with our props. For the Flames, go with Nazem Kadri to score a goal in this game. On the Oilers end of things, take Zach Hyman to get a power-play point.
